Bio

For the past five years, Sharon has primarily focused on the birds of Southern California, with a strong focus on Batiquitos Lagoon in Carlsbad, California. As a docent there, she leads public bird walks, and shares her photographs for educational bulletin boards. Sharon created a 2007 calendar, Birds of Batiquitos Lagoon, and also just completed a 2009 calendar of birds for the Lagoon. This is a way she can contribute to her environment, and hopefully through education, this will benefit the conservation of birds.
The Carlsbad Magazine has featured Sharon's photographs in five issues, which included three covers, over the past three years. In the May/June 2008 issue her photograph of a California Brown Pelican was on the cover, and also ten pelican photos were in a featured article, Windmaster, Shadowcaster. In the September/October 2008 issue, there are six of her photographs in the featured article, Ocean Art.
Sharon has been represented by the Ordover Gallery in Solana Beach, California, www.ordovergallery.com, for the past two years, where she has had two major Exhibitions. The first, Feathers and Fur, in May/2007, included Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese of Arizona. The second was in June 2008, A Passion for Birds, which featured the California Brown Pelican in breeding plumage, and other local birds.
Sharon is a member of the North County Photographic Society, where she has won many awards in their yearly Exhibition, and also has won honors at the Del Mar Fair.
